Gritstone COVID-19 Vaccine Clinical Trial

The University of Washington Virology Research Clinic (VRC)/Vaccine & Treatment Evaluation Unit (VTEU) is conducting a clinical trial of a chimpanzee Adenovirus and self-amplifying mRNA prime-boost prophylactic vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 in healthy adults.

The purpose of this trial is to test investigational booster vaccines for COVID-19. Participants who previously received a two-dose series of an mRNA COVID-19 Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) with a booster will receive a single booster study vaccination. Participants who previously received an adenovirus-vectored COVID-19 EUA vaccine (Johnson and Johnson/Janssen) with a booster will receive a two-dose booster study vaccination series.

Key points:  

  • We are seeking participants that are 61 years old or older and are in general good health. 
  • You can only participate if you have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and also received a booster.
  • Participation is strictly voluntary.

Payment & Time Commitment:

  • You will be compensated $1300-$2000 (depending on what stage/group you are in) for completing all planned study visits.
  • The study will last up to 15 months.
